Cardamom prices were up 1.12 per cent to Rs 673.80 per kg in futures trading today as speculators enlarged positions amid rising demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in March gained Rs 7.50, or 1.12 per cent, to Rs 673.80 per kg, in a business turnover of 23 lots.
The spice for delivery in April was up by Rs 7.20, or 1.02 per cent, to Rs 711 per kg, with a trading volume of four lots.
Analysts said fresh positions built up by speculators on the back of rise in demand in the spot market against restricted arrivals from growing regions, mainly influenced cardamom prices at futures trade.
