Chana prices were up by 1.28 per cent to Rs 6,026 per quintal in futures market today as participants created fresh positions, driven by pick up in demand in the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in June month rose by Rs 76, or 1.28 per cent to Rs 6,026 per quintal with an open interest of 16,120 lots.
In a similar fashion, the commodity for delivery in July contracts traded higher by Rs 69, or 1.14 per cent to Rs 6,100 per quintal in 5,190 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by participants after pick up in demand in the spot market amid restricted supplies from producing belts helped chana prices to trade higher at futures trade.
