A court here today asked Delhi police to respond to a plea of arrested Indian pacer S Sreesanth that he be supplied with a copy of the FIR lodged against him and 13 others in the alleged IPL spot-fixing scandal case.
"Heard. Issue notice of the present application to the IO (investigating officer) for May 20," Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Lokesh Kumar Sharma said after the lawyer for the cricketer advanced submissions on the plea.
Sreesanth, his two teammates of Rajasthan Royals franchise and 11 bookies were remanded to five days of police custody on May 16.
Earlier, the cricketer, who is being quizzed by the Special Cell in connection with the case, had moved the application seeking a copy of the FIR to prepare his defence.
Meanwhile, the court today allowed the defence lawyers to inspect the copy of the FIR.
