Suresh alias Nishant, lodged in Puzhal jail here in connection with a ganja smuggling case, had escaped from the police after returning from a court appearance in Pudukottai in June.
A case was filed in this connection at Koyambedu CMBT Police station and a special team was formed to nab him.
Police had come to know that Suresh was arrested by their counteparts in Kerala recently after he had fled to that state to carry on with the same trade, a city police release said.
