Reacting to media reports that Chief Minister Amarinder Singh did not address the function at Attariwala's village, a government spokesperson said there was no state-level programme there.
In fact, Amarinder decided to visit the village, after attending the official function at the India Gate-War Memorial here, to pay his respects at the 'samadh' of Gen Attariwala.
The official said there was only one state-level event to mark the occasion, which the chief minister attended as scheduled and specified in a state government advertisement in various newspapers this morning.
There was, therefore, no question of the chief minister skipping the programme, he added.
