State transport employee commits suicide over united AP

An employee of Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) today allegedly committed suicide at Proddatur here in support of united Andhra Pradesh, police said today.
The 54-year-old victim, identified as Nagamuneaiah, climbed atop a water tank at the RTC depot building in Proddatur this evening and jumped from there, DSP Srinivas Reddy said.
Nagamuneaiah was actively participating in the ongoing agitation at Proddatur for over last thirty days, he said.
"Today, he climbed on the water tank and jumped from the top shouting 'Jai Samaikyandhra'. He had a ribbon tied round his head which read the the same slogan," Reddy added.

The incident took place before a group of people and he was immediately taken to hospital where he succumbed to severe injuries, police said.
