The meeting, conducted at AIIMS and presided over by Health Secretary Keshav Desiraju, saw states make presentations of their health schemes for the year 2013-14.
The officials also asked states to speed up health initiatives under the government's flagship National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) scheme to enable common people in rural areas to benefit from the Centrally-sponsored scheme.
The Planning Commission is in the process of finalising the annual plans of various states for the current year.
