'The Superstition' hitmaker was performing a pre-Super Bowl concert in New Orleans, Louisiana when he suddenly stopped the show and announced the exciting news to the crowd.
The identity of the 38-year-old's fiance remains unknown, but Wonder was so disappointed he missed out on the proposal that he is said to have asked his future son-in-law to do it again, reported E! Online.
"Stevie said he wanted her fiance to re-propose to her so her father could hear it. It was a lovely moment," a source said.
After the big announcement, the 62-year-old superstar played a full set on the eve of the American football championships showpiece, including 'Higher Ground', 'How Sweet It Is' (To Be Loved By You) and 'Isn't She Lovely', which was inspired by his daughter when she was a child.
