Five fishermen, who got
stranded at 'Valai Munai Island' after their boat sank, have been rescued by their colleagues after two days, officials said today.
They said the fishermen from Chinna Erwadi had ventured into the sea in a mechanised boat on May 29.
The boat sank after water entered through a hole in the vessel and the fishermen swam to the island.
A group of fishermen saw them stranded on the island, rescued and brought them to shore, officials said.
