Strike to protest irregularities in TRJEE results

Vehicles remained off the roads, markets remained closed and train service was stopped due to picketing by the strike enforcers.

Schools, colleges and educationa institutions, banks and financial institutions were closed and attendence in government offices, including the state Civil secretariat here were thin.

However, flights operated in the Agartala airport as usual.

Police said, no untoward incident was reported from any part of the state so far.

Terming the result scam as unprecedented, YC state unit president Sushanta Chowdhury and NSUI state unit president Vikki Prasad said talented students in the state were facing a bleak future due to the manipulation in the answer scripts of the students who appeared for the examinations conducted by TBJEE.

The Agartala bench of Gawhati High Court had on Tuesday seized all the answer sheets following complaints of discrepancies in the result sheets.

High Court Judge Subhasish Talapatra ordered the Deputy Registrar of the court and police to seize all answer sheets.
