Students damage furniture after being prevented from cheating

The first year students of Chakdaha College demanded that they be allowed to cheat and sit in a hall of their choice and abused invigilators when they disallowed it, SDPO, Kalyani Subhankar Bhattacharjee said.

The students went on the rampage thereafter and broke benches and chairs which made the college authorities to call in the police to bring the situation under control, he said.

The examination was held subsequently, teacher in charge Shibnath Bandopadhyay said.
