Sugar declines on low demand, supply pressure

Sugar prices drifted lower by Rs 70 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following fading demand from stockists and bulk consumer amid ample stocks on increased supplies from mills.
Marketmen said the fall in sweetener prices was mostly attributed to considerable fall in demand from stockists and bulk consumers amid higher supplies from mills.
Prices of Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 declined by Rs 70 each to end at Rs 4,000-4,080 and Rs 3,990-4,070 per quintal.
Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices also slipped by Rs 40 each to conclude at Rs 3,680-3,750 and Rs 3,670-3,740 per quintal.

In the millgate section, sugar Sakoti and Khatuli dropped by Rs 50 each to Rs 3,680 and Rs 3,710, followed by Kinnoni and Dorala which fell by Rs 40 each to Rs 3,750 and Rs 3,700 per quintal.
Prices of Mawana, Asmoli, Dhanora, Simbholi, Dhampur, Ramala, Baghpat, Nazibabad and Chandpur also eased by Rs 30 each to Rs 3,700, Rs 3,730, Rs 3,720, Rs 3,730, Rs 3,680, Rs 3,670, Rs 3,680, Rs 3,670 and Rs 3,680 per quintal respectively.
