Sugar drops on subdued demand, good supply

Both the varieties of sugar prices dropped at the Vashi wholesale market here today on sustained selling by stockists amid subdued demand on the back of ample supply position.
Medium sugar (M-30) fell by Rs 30/5 per quintal to Rs 3,050/3,221 from Monday's closing level of Rs 3,080/3,226.
Small sugar (S-30) slipped modestly by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 2,960/3,042 from Rs 2,970/3,042.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,960/3,042 (Rs 2,970/3,042).
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,050/3,221 (Rs 3,080/3,226).
