Sugar prices drop on subdued demand

Both the varieties of sugar prices dropped at the Vashi wholesale sugar market here today due to subdued demand from stockist and retailers amidst ample supplies.
Medium sugar (M-30) fell by Rs 31 per quintal to Rs 3,150/3,361 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 3,181/3,361.
Small sugar (S-30) declined by Rs 20 per quintal to Rs 3,082/3,161 as compared to Rs 3,082/3,181 previously.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,082/3,161 (Rs 3,082/3,181.
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,150/3,361 (Rs 3,181/3,361).
