Sugar prices ease on poor offtake

Both the varieties of sugar moved down at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to lack of buying support from stockists and retailers.
Medium sugar (M-30) edged down by Rs 6 per quintal to Rs 3,206/3,350 from overnight closing level of Rs 3,212/3,350.
Small sugar (S-30) also softened by Rs 4 per quintal to Rs 3,092/3,205 as compared with Rs 3,096/3,205 yesterday.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,206/3,350 (Rs 3,212/3,350).
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,092/3,205 (Rs 3,096/3,205.
