Sugar prices end mixed

Prices of small sugar gained on better offtake from stockists and retailers, while Medium variety declined due to subdued demand.

Small sugar (S-30) climbed by Rs 11 per quintal to Rs 3,432/3,512 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 3,421/3,512.

However, medium sugar (M-30) looked down by Rs 6 per quintal to Rs 3,486/3,701 as compared to Rs 3,492/3,701 last weekend.

The following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,432/3,512 (Rs 3,421/3,512).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,486/3,701 (Rs 3,492/3,701).
