Each of them was charged with one count of second degree robbery after a female celebrity photographer accused them of taking her camera in Beverly Hills, California last month, reported Ace Showbiz.
The alleged theft took place near a building on North Canon Drive, where a studio named FilmOn is located, according to sources.
The studio's founder Alki David said the paparazzi, named in the court papers as Leslie Redden, picked up the fight.
"Katt was attacked by a mad woman with a camera. A girlfriend of Katt's quite rightly defended him, but there was no actual altercation."
He is facing up to seven years of jail if convicted. Meanwhile, Knight was arrested in Las Vegas, taken into custody without incident. He could get 30 years to life in prison if convicted due to his history of assault with a deadly weapon.
Prosecutors said that bail would be set at USD 75,000 for Williams and USD 1 million for Knight.
