According to a Met department official, maximum temperature settled two notches above normal at 39.6 degree Celsius while the minimum temperature recorded was 29 degree Celsius, one degree above normal.
Humidity level oscillated between 71 and 45 per cent and no rain was reported in the city during the day.
Yesterday, the maximum temperature at the Safdarjung observatory settled at 39.9 degree which was 3 notches above normal, while the minimum temperature was 28.8 degree Celsius.
"The city may experience partly cloudy sky tomorrow and thundery developments may occur in some parts of the city. The maximum and minimum may settle around 40 and 29 degree Celsius respectively," a MeT department official said.
