Sumit Nagal, Sidharth Rawat progress to 2nd round

Sumit Nagal, the junior Wimbledon doubles champion, made short work of Kazakhstan's Timur Khabibulin 6-2 6-1 to advance to the singles second round of the USD 10,000 ITF men's Futures event, here today.
In the second major upset of the day, Sidharth Rawat played aggressively to dispose of fifth seed Yannick Thivant of France 6-4 6-4.
However, India's fourth seed Sasi Kumar Mukund fell 4-6 6-6 4-6 to Isa Mammetgulyyev, a wild Card from Turkmenistan.
Another Indian who advanced was left-handed Prajnesh Gunneswaran, who demolished compatriot Manish Sureshkumar for the loss of just two games.
Qualifier S D Prajwal Dev got the better of Lucas Renard of Sweden 7-5 6-0 and Suraj R Prabodh got into his own after losing a set to get the better of qualifier Hardeep Singh Sandhu 4-6 6-2 6-1.
V M Ranjeet the sixth seed scored a routine straight set victory over Jajbir Saran 6-4 6-3, while P C Vignesh completed the line up for the second round when he outplayed Risyhabdev Raman 6-4 6-2.
