A suspended Sub-Inspector and his
younger brother died after they pelted stones at each other near their house at Kannapatti village in the district, allegedly over a property dispute.
Police said the duo used to frequently pick up quarrels
with each other. Late last night, the SI A Venkatachalam (55) and his younger Chellachamy again engaged in a war over the issue, allegedly in an inebriated state.
They suddenly started pelting stones at each other. Chellachamy died on the spot of grievous injuries and his brother on the way to hospital, they said.
