Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra of Suttur Math in Mysuru was speaking at the inaugural session of the three-day Dharma Sansad being held at the temple town of Udupi in coastal Karnataka by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
The seer spoke in the presence of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, VHP international general secretary Dr Praveen Togadia and a host of eminent religious leaders.
"The most dangerous threat is from some pseudo religious groups, who in the name of Hinduism, indulge in lumpen activities and cause irreparable damage to the religion, such as cow vigilantes, moral policing, heralding pseudo-sanyasis.. shall not be tolerated," the seer said.
He also highlighted the need for improving the status of women and their safety.
