Swine flu has claimed 45 lives till October this year in Chhattisgarh, Health Minister Ajay Chandrakar informed the state Assembly today.
In a written reply to a question by Congress MLA Arun Vora, Chandrakar said, "As many as 930 samples of suspected patients were sent for swine flu confirmation out of which 218 were tested positive of H1N1 virus till October in 2015. Of them 45 people died due to the deadly virus".
According to the reply, maximum 16 deaths were reported in Raipur district during this period followed by Durg (12), Bilaspur (8), Mahsamund (2), Korba (2) and one each in Rajnandgaon, Balodabazar, Bemetara, Bijapur, Gariyaband, Jashpur.
