Swine flu raises its head again in Guj, 45 deaths since Aug 1

Swine flu seems to have returned to Gujarat for the second time this year, claiming 45 lives since August 1.
Since August 1, 404 patients infected with H1N1 virus were admitted to hospitals across the state. Of them, 293 were cured while 66 were still undergoing treatment, the state government said in a bulletin here today.
Today, 12 new cases were registered: six in Surat, two in Ahmedabad and one each in Bhavnagar, Bharuch, Vadodara and Rajkot districts.
In the earlier spell between January and March, swine flu had claimed more than 420 lives in Gujarat while more than 6,400 were hospitalised.
