Odisha government today decided to initiate criminal proceedings against those persons who have availed multiple plots and houses from government agencies under the discretionary quota (DQ) by submitting false affidavits, official sources said.
The decision in this regard was taken at the review meeting on implementation of the recommendations made by Taradutt Task Force Committee.
The meeting was chaired by chief secretary A P Padhi.
Taradutt committee had recommended to the state government to initiate action against those who availed plots and houses from Bhubaneswar Development Authority, Cuttack Development Authority and Housing Board by producing fake affidavits.
The criminal proceedings will be initiated against individuals who either had availed multiple plots by false affidavits or have concealed facts during time of application, Padhi told reporters after the meeting.
The chief secretary directed officials to conduct a realistic survey on the allotments by preparing a matrix as per the recommendations of the Task Force within next four months.
Official sources said, of the total 790 plot/houses allotments made by BDA under discretionary quota, vigilance had conducted an inquiry into 332 cases while 48 cases have been completed so far. While 46 cases were found free of charges, two had been found to have given false documents.
