'Take reports on deficiencies in govt schemes in right spirit'

Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy today said that media reports highlighting lacunae and deficiencies in working of government schemes should be taken in the right spirit and in a positive manner.
"Government should take steps to rectify the shortcomings in implementation of the schemes as projected by the media.We should not mistake the media as functioning against the government whenever objective press reports come out as the quality of governance will improve only through such role of the media'
He was speaking after inaugurating a special health camp for media personnel, organised jointly by the Directorate of Information and Publicity of Puducherry government and Centrally administered JIPMER here.

JIPMER Director S C Parija, who also spoke, said they had been holding health camps for different sections of people. Every Tuesday it's 'Health initiative' was bringing to the fore various health issues, he said.
Officials of the Directorate of Information were also present.
