The Taliban today issued a pamphlet highlighting punishments and orders for the month of Ramadan in northwest Pakistan, warning against wearing tight and thin clothes and one month imprisonment for not fasting.
The Taliban unanimously decided to issue the order at a Shura meeting of the Mullah Nazir Taliban Group in Wana headquarters of South Waziristan Agency.
Tight or thin clothes have been banned for both men and women during the holy month, the pamphlet stated.
It warned shops and tailors of severe punishments and fines up to Rs 50,000 for violating these orders.
The pamphlet stated anyone found not fasting during Ramadan would be kept in prison for one month.
The pamphlet cautioned shopkeepers against selling fireworks during Ramadan and stated those violating these rules would be punished in accordance with Sharia law.
