After rising 1.94 per cent to Rs 550.80 apiece in the intra-day trade at the BSE, shares of the company finally ended at Rs 540.40 per scrip, up 0.02 per cent.
At the NSE, the stock closed at Rs 541.25 apiece, up 0.14 per cent from its previous close.
In terms of volume, 3.57 lakh shares of the company changed hands at the BSE and over 40 lakh shares were traded at the NSE during the day.
In the passenger vehicles category, global sales last month stood at 65,466 units, up 16 per cent, as compared to 56,420 units in March 2014, the company had said in a statement yesterday.
Sales of luxury brand Jaguar Land Rover rose by 16 per cent to 50,093 units during the month as compared to 43,311 units during the same month a year ago.
Meanwhile, in the broader market the BSE benchmark Sensex ended the day with a loss of 133.65 points at 28,666.04.
