Tata Motors surges over 6%; mcap rises by Rs 4,857 cr

Shares of Tata Motors rallied over 6 per cent, adding Rs 4,857 crore to its market valuation today, on smart sales data for September and reports that Jaguar Land Rover US sales soared.
After climbing 8.41 per cent to Rs 322 in intra-day trade, shares of the company finally ended at Rs 315.20, up 6.13 per cent on BSE.
The stock was the top gainer on Sensex.
At NSE, the stock rallied 5.84 per cent to Rs 315.15.
Following the surge in the stock, the company's market valuation climbed Rs 4,856.61 crore to Rs 90,605.61 crore.
In terms of volume, 11.90 lakh shares of the company changed hands at BSE and over one crore shares were traded at NSE during the day.

Tata Motors' sales of passenger cars in September were higher by 5 per cent at 10,226 units, as compared to 9,766 units in same period of last year.
The stock also rallied on reports that Tata Motors September US JLR sales have risen sharply.
In the stock market, the BSE benchmark Sensex rose sharply by 564.60 points to 26,785.55.
