The private power producer gained 3.32 per cent to close the day at Rs 90.20 on the BSE. In intra-day, it jumped 5.26 per cent to Rs 91.90.
At the NSE, it rose by 3.03 per cent to settle at Rs 90.
In terms of volume, 16.14 lakh shares of the company changed hands at the BSE and over 81 lakh shares were traded at the NSE during the day.
The company had suffered a loss of Rs 75 crore during the corresponding quarter of the last financial year (2013-14), Tata Power said in a regulatory filing to stock exchanges.
