TCS World 10K raises more than Rs 4.5 Cr for Charity

With thousands participating at the 2015 edition of the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) World 10 K Bengaluru, over Rs 4.5 crores was raised for charity in aid of multiple causes through the efforts of the Philanthropy Partner India Cares Foundation.
Sha Nigar was the top pledge raiser among Care Champions, collecting Rs 16.96 lakh, in support of The Association of People with Disability, followed by Akhaya Sagar, who raised Rs 15.25 lakh for Reaching Hand, TCS said in a statement here.
But the stand-out contribution was made by 13-year old Siddhant Dessai who raised an astonishing Rs 15.19 lakh for Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care, the company said.
KPMG led the way for fund-raisers among corporate houses, raising Rs 27.50 lakh compared to Rs 12.25 lakh last year, to emerge the highest pledge raising company for two years in a row, it said.
Sasken followed suit by raising Rs 9 lakh and the team of employees from Shell India raised Rs 4.13 lakh for ProVision Asia, the company said.
The Corporate Cares category, specially designed for companies who wish to sponsor employee teams to participate in the run and raise funds for charity saw 48 teams from 38 companies come together and raised Rs 1,13,19,705 benefiting 21 NGOs this year, it said.
Amongst the NGOs it was Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care raising Rs 62.40 lakh, followed by Association for People with Disability raising Rs 42.04 lakh, the company said.
ProVision Asia raised a total of Rs 40.50 lakhs at the TCS World 10K 2015, it said.
Prarthana Kaul was declared the highest fund raising iCare runner, raising Rs 6,93,518 for 14 NGOs, the company said.
Dilip Jayaram, who participated in the CEO Dash and came third raised Rs 5,06,000 lakhs for three causes is the second highest fund raiser amongst iCare runners, it added.
