TEA offers Rs 1 lakh to athlete participating in Olympics

In a gesture to promote sports and encourage sportspersons, the Tirupur Exporters' Association (TEA) has offered Rs 1 lakh to an athlete from nearby Tirupur district, who will be participating in the next month's coming Olympics in Brazil.
Dharun Ayyasamy hailing from Ravuthampalayam village in Tirupur District is participating in the 4x400 meteres men's relay in the olympics.
TEA President A Sakthivel said, the participation of a lad from Tirupur in the Olympics was a proud moment for them.
"TEA has sponsored Rs 1 lakh and handed over the cheque to Dharun's mother Poongodi today in Tirupur," he said.
