The victim's brother works as a police informer. Two others were injured in this attack, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Wasiulla Shaikh alias Rasgulla (41), while police informer Abdul Shaikh (35) and Shamsuddin Shaikh were injured in the attack, police said.
The incident took place yesterday afternoon at a scrap godown in Subhashnagar, Andheri MIDC when the accused persons called Shaikh and his brother to meet.
The accused got to know that Abdul Shaikh had passed an information to the police that one of their aide was involved in a crime in Nashik.
As Abdul went to meet them with brother Wasiulla and friend Shamsuddin, the accused attacked the trio with steel and pipe, police said.
