Tea workers' trade union forum claims workers to get 19% puja

The Joint Forum of Trade Unions today said workers of functioning plantations spread over Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar and Darjeeling Hills districts will get 19 per cent puja bonus this year as decided in a bilateral meeting yesterday.
Senior CITU leader and Convenor of Joint Forum of Trade Unions, an umbrella organisation of 24 trade unions working in tea sector, Ziaul Alam made the claim here.
Alam, who is state-level CITU member, claimed at a meeting in Siliguri Labour office of West Bengal government between management and 24 trade unions it was decided on principle the workers of open tea gardens will get 30 per cent bonus on the occasion of Durga Puja/Diwali.

Besides CITU, leaders of INTTUC, INTUC and other unions were among the 24 unions present at the deliberations, he said.
