The accused was identified as Pedada Chinnababu (21), a resident of Madhurawada area in the city.
"Chinnababu used to wait at the ATM counter, where two ATM kiosks were installed and used to target those people who were not familiar in handling ATMs. He would pretend to help them and in the process used to takes debit card and activate the card in one ATM kiosk and at the sometime he withdraw money from another ATM kiosk by entering the PIN, which was disclosed by the card holder," ACP (Madhurawada) D Ravi Babu and Inspector of Arilova police station Ch Dhanunjaya Naidu said.
Chinnababu had withdrawn a total of Rs 10,000 in three cases recently under Arilova area.
Based on the complaint from the victims, Arilova police investigated the case and arrested the accused.
