Tech Mahindra launches NFC testing lab

IT services major Tech Mahindra today said it has set up a Near Field Communication (NFC) test lab in Bangalore.
The NFC testing and consulting capabilities in the lab will cater to the needs of chipset manufacturers, OEMs and service providers, Tech Mahindra said in a statement.
According to industry experts, there are nearly 400 million NFC-enabled smartphones deployed worldwide and growth projections near 1 billion handsets by 2016.
The company already has 6 test labs globally.

Flipkart partners Dell to ramp up datacenter * e-Commerce major Flipkart has partnered technology giant Dell to help ramp up its existing data center and set up a disaster recovery mechanism.

The team from Dell worked in with Flipkart right from installation of the servers to configuration and integration with network switches, Dell said in a statement.

Dell also advised Flipkart to implement a Disaster Recovery site to ensure business continuity, it added.

SAP names Adaire Fox-Martin as President of APJ ops * ERP solutions provider SAP today said it has appointed Adaire Fox Martin as the President of its Asia Pacific and Japan operations with immediate effect.
In her new role, Fox-Martin will oversee SAP's business in the Asia Pacific Region, excluding China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan which are managed by Mark Gibbs, President of SAP Greater China.

Both Fox-Martin and Gibbs report to Robert Enslin, President of Global Customer Operations and a member of the Global Managing Board of SAP AG, SAP said in a statement.

Arbitron India gets first IT leadership award * The first IT Leadership award to promote Innovation and Excellence in the IT sector in Kerala was awarded to Shilen Sagunan, Managing Director of Arbitron India. The award has been instituted by the Kerala Management Association and Nasscom.
Shilen Sagunan is being recognised for his efforts in setting up a unique work culture in Arbitron India, which differs vastly from the common business practices adopted by IT companies in the State, a press release said.
