The NFC testing and consulting capabilities in the lab will cater to the needs of chipset manufacturers, OEMs and service providers, Tech Mahindra said in a statement.
According to industry experts, there are nearly 400 million NFC-enabled smartphones deployed worldwide and growth projections near 1 billion handsets by 2016.
The company already has 6 test labs globally.

Flipkart partners Dell to ramp up datacenter * e-Commerce major Flipkart has partnered technology giant Dell to help ramp up its existing data center and set up a disaster recovery mechanism.

SAP names Adaire Fox-Martin as President of APJ ops * ERP solutions provider SAP today said it has appointed Adaire Fox Martin as the President of its Asia Pacific and Japan operations with immediate effect.
In her new role, Fox-Martin will oversee SAP's business in the Asia Pacific Region, excluding China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan which are managed by Mark Gibbs, President of SAP Greater China.

Arbitron India gets first IT leadership award * The first IT Leadership award to promote Innovation and Excellence in the IT sector in Kerala was awarded to Shilen Sagunan, Managing Director of Arbitron India. The award has been instituted by the Kerala Management Association and Nasscom.
Shilen Sagunan is being recognised for his efforts in setting up a unique work culture in Arbitron India, which differs vastly from the common business practices adopted by IT companies in the State, a press release said.
Wizius Technologies launches QP Packet
* Startup Village incubated Wizius technologies, a woman's entrepreneurship firm, has launched its first product, QPPacket, an online examination application for students preparing for entrance exams.
The site, accessible at 'www.Qppacket.Com', features chapter divided tests on all subjects with over 15,000 questions, their keys and answers, and more specifically solved step by step answers to all these, as given by experts from various institutions.
