Naseer Ahmed and Rukhsana Kouser (15) were going to school. On the way, they slipped from a ridge in the Budnar area of Mahore and fell into the stream, a police official said.
A police team and local residents rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation.
"The boy could not be saved whereas the girl was taken out of the water," he said.
The girl has been admitted to sub-division hospital in Mahore where her condition is stated to be stable, the official said.
A case has been registered, the official said.
