A teenager was killed and eight others were injured after rival groups clashed over a pathway in the Mandhata area here on Tuesday, police said.
The incident took place in the afternoon in Usrapur village under the Mandhata police station area, they said.
There had been a longstanding dispute over a pathway in the village. This afternoon, two rival factions clashed and attacked each other using sticks, resulting in the death of a teenager and injuries to eight people, Assistant Superintendent of Police Dinesh Dwivedi said.
The victim has been identified as Manjit Patel (16), he said.
The eight injured have been admitted to the district hospital, Dwivedi said.
Investigation in the case is on, he said.
