Teenagers taking bath in 'nullah' swept away

Three teenagers were swept away as they were taking bath in a nullah due to strong flow of water following rain showers in the Sawai Madhopur district, the police said today.
A 59-year-old man also lost his life in a similar manner in Jodhpur, according to the police.
Officials said that south-west monsoon has arrived in the state and heavy rainfall in south Rajasthan has affected the movement on the Mehsana-Palanpur railway route as well.
In Sawai Madhopur district, three young boys - Ketan Mali (13), Lavkush Mali (14) and Prem Singh Mali (15) died when they were taking bath in a nullah in Pemapura village late last night, a Gangapur City police official.
Bodies of the three boys, who were related to each other, were handed over to their family members without post mortem and no case was registered in the matter, the official added.
In another incident, a man - Professor Amarchand Rathi - was swept away in a nullah in Ratanada police station area of Jodhpur, the police said.
Rathi's body was handed over to family members following post mortem, police said.
Heavy rainfall also affected the movement of trains in the state, officials said.
Abu road- Mehsana-Ahmedabad, Ajmer-Ahmedabad-Ajmer passenger trains were cancelled due to heavy rainfall on the Mehsana-Palapur railway route, senior railways PRO, Kamal Joshi said.
According to the MeT department, till 8.30 am today, 9 cm rainfall was recorded in Revdar, 7 cm in Kotda, 6 cm in Mount Abu, Abu Road, Balotara, Raniwada, 5 cm in Shergarh, Sirohi and Gudamanali.
Various places across the state recorded rainfall ranging from 1 to 4 cm.
MeT officials have predicted rainfall at isolated places.
