Tel assistant engineer held for accepting Rs 5000 bribe

An Assistant Engineer posted with Telangana Educational Welfare Infrastructure Development Corporation was trapped by ACB today for allegedly accepting Rs 5000 in bribe for extending official favour.
MA Ajeez was caught when he was accepting the money from the complainant on the premises of district collectorate here, said ACB Deputy Superintendent of Police Sai Baba Goud.
According to ACB, the complainant had in the past paid Rs 45,000 bribe to Ajeez for clearing his bills related to construction of a school building and one bill was pending with the engineer for which the latter allegedly demanded Rs 5000.
Ajeez has been taken into custody, Goud said.
