Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today called on his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu here and invited him for the 'Ayutha Chandi Yagam' to be held later this month.
Rao, who arrived here in a helicopter from Hyderabad this afternoon, was received by Andhra Pradesh ministers Yanamala Rama Krishnudu and Dr K Srinivas.
He was then driven to Naidu's residence at Undavalli village near here.
Naidu welcomed his Telangana counterpart and both of them held a meeting for about an hour, during which Rao invited Naidu to attend the 'ayutha chandi yagam' that is scheduled to be held at his farm house in Medak district between December 23 and 27 for the "well-being of Telangana".
Rao left for Hyderabad after the lunch.
This is one of the few meetings in the recent times between the two CMs, who had a strained relationship. According to political observers, it was the foundation laying stone for Andhra Pradesh capital Amaravati, which helped to break the ice between the two leaders.
Chandrababu Naidu had personally invited Rao to attend the foundation stone laying ceremony of Amaravati, the capital city of Andhra Pradesh. Rao had shared the dais along with Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Amaravati on October 22.
