A group belonging to a community tried to install an idol of a goddess at a disputed spot in a village dominated by another community late last night, police said.
Two persons of the other faction called the attention of those attending a gathering nearby and they indulged in brick batting on persons who had installed the idol, leading to tension, they said.
An FIR has been filed against 35 people and two persons each of both the factions have been arrested, police said.
