Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Najeeb Jung today released 'The Heritage Guide Book', which brings forth some interesting glimpses of lesser known as well as famous edifices of the city.
The book titled 'Delhi: A Heritage City, 20 walks through History' has been published by INTACH, Delhi Chapter here whose chief patron is the Lieutenant Governor.
"This well illustrated work has been aesthetically designed and produced to provide some interesting glimpse of some of the lesser known, as well as the better know edifices of Delhi," Jung said while unveiling the book at the Raj Niwas.
The publication is the culmination of earlier versions of documentation prepared by INTACH Delhi Chapter to increase awareness among people about the incredible architectural heritage of the city.
Maj Gen(Retd) L K Gupta, Chairman of the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage was among those present at the occasion.
Generation of content for the publication was originally funded by the World Monuments Fund's Sustainable Tourism initiative, supported by American Express.
Conceptualised by Professor A G Krishna Menon, Convenor of INTACH Delhi Chapter, the book has been edited by Annabel Lopez and Swapna Liddle and designed by Alpana Khare.
The map and archival images used in the book have been sourced from British Library and the Archaeological Survey of India.
This edition incorporates the twenty walks in a single volume.
