Robert Zemeckis will executive produce the new version of the classic cartoon, which will be written by Gary Janetti, reported Deadline.
The series is set 100 years in the future and looks at America's favorite future family through a modern filter.
The original "Jetsons" aired for 24 episodes on ABC from 1962-1963 as a futuristic counterpart to the pre-historic animated sitcom "The Flintstones".
