A magisterial inquiry has been ordered in the matter considering the death in police custody, he added.
Seervai was arrested last evening on suspicion of thefts and was to be produced in a court today, he said.
He went to bathroom in the night and took a blanket along but when he did not came out after some time, a sentry went inside and found him hanging from a hook, he said, adding that Seervai used the blanket to make a loop and hanged himself.
