Unidentified persons uprooted an automated teller machine (ATM) of a private bank on the Muktsar-Abohar Road here and decamped with it, police said today.
The accused on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday decamped with the ATM, carrying Rs 6.4 lakh, police said.
The matter came to fore when the guard came on duty next morning, they said.
A case has been registered in the matter, they said.
The footages of CCTV cameras, installed in the ATM kiosk, are being examined to identify the culprits, they said.
In a similar incident, thieves on June 7 had decamped with an ATM of a public sector bank containing Rs 2.8 lakh from nearby Faridkot district.
