The arrested persons were identified as Siba Shankar Mohanty (28) of Krishnama Peta Street, claiming to be working in a local press as a marketing agent, Amit Kumar Das (25) of Balipada village near the town and Bala Krushna Sahu (24) of New Kalu Patra Street, police said.
At least six persons were involved in the loot from Jagan Kumar Sahu at Sandha Mohanty Street on December 24 last, they said adding efforts are on to nab the rest.
Police have been drawing flack for delay in the breakthrough in the sensitive daylight loot case from the crowded market area.
At least six persons had allegedly snatched the bag containing the cash from Sahu at gun point, after attacking his driver Bhima Behera. Sahu was going to deposit the cash to the bank when the miscreants struck, police said.
"We have identified the other accused persons. Search is on to nab them," the SDPO said.
