Taxi owner Harish Chandra and driver Brijendra were shot dead by five persons on July 23. Following the initial clues, a joint team of Special Operation Group and district police arrested one Harendra from Maujpur village here, SSP Gulab Singh told reporters here.
On the information provided by Harendra, the joint team arrested Poonam Devi and Neelam.
Singh said Harendra, his relative Parvendra and friend Pintoo planned the crime, and were supported by Poonam Devi and Neelam.
As per the plan, they hired a taxi from Mathura to Bulandshahr on July 23 and made an attempt to loot the vehicle in Ahar area of the district, he said.
When Harish Chandra and Brijendra tried to resist the loot attempt, they opened fire on them and escaped, Singh said.
