Three booked for taking bribe in Osmanabad
Press Trust of India Mumbai Three persons including the chairwoman of Women and Child Welfare department of Osmanabad Zilla Parishad were today caught by the Anti Corruption Bureau for accepting a bribe of Rs 22,000 from a contractor.
Lata Anil Pawar, chairwoman of Women and Child Welfare Department, her personal assistant Pandurang Vedpathak and Annasaheb Madhekar, a medical shop owner, were caught red-handed in a trap laid at ZP office, police said.
Pawar and Vedpathak had demanded bribe from a Pune-based contractor who provided flex boards for Beti Bachao Mission as a quid-pro-quo for not initiating inquiry into quality of the material he used.
The complainant, who had bagged the flex board contract for Rs 11.66 lakh, then approached the ACB.
