ADG, Prison, Adhir Sharma said that Qutubuddin Laskar, Shamim Haldar and Azim Mistry escaped from Cell No 8 by cutting the rods and scaling wall post No 7 by using water pipe and 'lungi'.
They escaped at around 3.30 AM, he said.
Necessary disciplinary action has been taken against the guards who were on duty at that time, he said.
A manhunt has been launched, he said.
