Three held for cricket betting in Hyderabad
Press Trust of India Hyderabad The Hyderabad Police today arrested three persons for allegedly indulging in cricket betting and seized Rs 2.87 lakh after raiding two locations in the city, a senior official said.
"Police teams yesterday conducted simultaneous raids at two locations under the limits of Market and Shahinayathgunj police stations here and busted two cricket betting rackets and arrested three persons," Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Task Force) S Chaitanya Kumar said.
In the first case, police nabbed Deepesh Jain, a cricket betting organiser, and Shaik Faran, who allegedly used to collect money. In the second case, police arrested another cricket betting organiser Neelesh Kumar M.
Jain and Neelesh Kumar were collecting huge amounts from punters during second one-day match played between India vs Sri Lanka, the official said.
